This little bugger was eating my spaghetti out of the cupboard and running around in the ceiling when I was trying to sleep. My colleague poured some poison in the cupboard before we left for the weekend and this is what I found on sunday evening. The greedy rodent had eaten so much poison it could not fit out of the cupboard anymore. He escaped through the door but I think all that poison might have killed him since my spaghetti has since been left alone.

For those of you who didn’t notice I turned 30 a few days ago. My parents insisted on getting me a present of some sort so I told my father he could buy the TIG-machine we have been both thinking about. I of course don’t have a shop to work at in Oulu so I’m happy to have share my tools with my father – maybe it’s the other way around. Anyway, I heard there’s a TIG machine in their garage now and I have very little clue on how to use one.

I have been watching this excellent instructional video by Miller and Ron Covell about TIG welding basics. I highly recommend it if you’re interested in the subject.

Nina täyttää tänään 26!

It is a saturday and I’m sitting in Turku’s best bar drinking an American IPA. Yesterday was pretty crazy, cycling with the guys from TQHCFR. After a quick beer on the river bank we took off to check out a stash of cycling parts one of the local guys, Matti, had assembled. I love riding after a guy who has ridden the route a hundred times and polished all the slow stuff out in favor of all out mashing experience.

Anyway, the stash had been mostly sold already, but the cherries were in my opinion plentiful and ripe for picking. In minutes I found a Cinelli drop bar and stem I had not been able to find online. I also picked up a gorgeous Monoplanar-brake which I am going to install on Nina’s Pista.

A lot of the Turku riders already sport stuff from the stash. There had been a bunch of old Rossin track pursuit frames painted Bianchi celeste due to a sponsorship and they look pretty awesome on the street. I didn’t want to admit this to Nina right away but I had to buy one of those frames once I got my hands on it. Well that, and the Turku guys were really selling it to me. Don’t blame them, I blame the addiction.

Terry Richardson on tänään kuvannut Chloeta. Minulla on ollut flunssapäivä. Yöllä heräsin kolmelta kun en pystynyt kunnolla hengittämään ja jouduin ottamaan Buranan. Näin loppuyön painajaisia. Lounastauolla etsimme Korppoon apteekkia, joka oli piilotettu huolellisesti. Lopulta kaikista ansoista ja vääristä karttamerkinnöistä huolimatta löysimme sen ja ostin Finrexiniä, Buracapseja sekä imeskelytabletteja. En tiedä onko niistä ollut mitään hyötyä, mutta sen tiedän että se on flunssa tai minä.

Töissä on ollut vaikeaa. Joka kerta mietin, että tämä on vaikein työmaa koskaan, joten olen varmasti väärällä alalla. Nyt yritän oppia laadunvalvontaa ilman, että kukaan opettaisi. Tämän on varmasti kokenut jokainen vähänkään ketään tuurannut – menet töihin ja ainoa henkilö, joka osaisi opettaa, on se jota tulit tuuraamaan. Se on minusta paskinta.

Viikonlopuksi olisi hyviä syitä mennä Ouluun, mutta nyt en enää jaksa. Matkustan kaksi päivää viettääkseni yhden Oulussa, ei siinä ole järkeä. Menen siis Turkuun, josta matkalippujen hinnalla varasin hotellihuoneen. Toisen yön vietän varmaan Korppoossa. Täällä on jokin tapahtuma, joka on kai tarkoitettu eläkeläisille. Kaikki nuoret lähtivät jo kouluun. Toivottavasti lääkkeitä riittää niin, että pystyn lepäämään edes vähän tänä viikonloppuna.

Jonkinlaisen stressikynnyksen jo ylitin. Toinen silmä alkoi väsyneenä nykimään ja olin väsynyt jatkuvasti. Nyt sitä ei enää tapahdu, lakkasin kai välittämästä. Opiskeluvapaalla huomasin kyllä mistä tykkään ja se ei ollut opiskelu tai tämä työ. Sopiva annos autotallia ja karnevaalia toimii mulle.
